Hi, i’ve set the language of my site to Spanish. Most of EE now shows in Spanish, but there are some places where it is still in English. Can you tell me how to translate these into Spanish?

As you can see, there is still quite a lot in english in these two registration pages.

Hello,

We have a guide for translating Event Espresso here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-translate-event-espresso/

The registration form questions and question groups are translated through Event Espresso –> Registration Form.

Are you translating from the GlotPress file?

I downloaded the translation from here: https://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso-4

I’m translating with Loco translate. I just found out, that it is simply because, i forgot to press “sync” in Loco translate. It showed a 100% translation, because it was only showing 400 translated strings. After update, i now have 5000 untranslated strings. So my problem is solved.

Thanks, for leading me to discovering my own mistake 😀 haha

Aaand it’s not working…

i can’t update any translation file, and it’s driving me nuts

i have deleted all the translations that i had, and followed the translation guide. I i translated the po files with poedit, and uploaded the files. Some translations are not doing anything:!#€%)(/€&

Usually i never experience any trouble with translations, but this is a real headache.

As you can see i translated “details” into “translation” but nothing happens. There are also other translations in spanish, which doesn’t even show, like “Attendee information” is translated to “Información del Participante”

When i delete those files, just to check that those are endeen the ones that effects translations. All the translations disappears as expected. But the strings that i translate does not have any effect, when i reupload the translated files.

I do not have any cache on the site, so that shouldn’t be causing any problems.

Hi there,

Event Espresso has some internal caching that may be causing problems here.

For example when you translated ‘Details’ and ‘Attendee Information’ did you simply update the MO file within /wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/ and refresh the page?

You’ll find the translations won’t show up if you do it that way.

You’ll need to navigate to your /registration-checkout/ page to clear your session, re-select tickets for the event and view the page again. Your translations should then show up (not you’ll need to do that each time your update a translation and already have a registration in progress).

So with your translations in place, navigate to /registration-checkout/ and then re-register onto your event, do the translations show?

In regards to Loco translate are you just using that to build out your translation files and then placing them within /wp-content/?
