Missing Entries

Good Day,

I seem to have an issue with missing entrants and not really understanding what could be causing the problem (software is up to date).

I am currently taking entries for an event with both online payments using the PayFast plugin and Discount Codes. I decided to compare the amount of entries and payments received just to confirm that we had received all payments that had been processed, when checking I found that we had received more payments than we had entrants. I exported both the entrants list from EE and from PayFast and out of around 750 entrants I noticed that I was missing 5 entrants details that we had received payment for. At first I thought that it could have been a problem with an entrant making a cash deposit instead of using the online options but this was not the case, seems all the missing entrants used on of the forms of online payments.

After a little more digging I came across something that is even more puzzling, the payments that have been made all have EE Reg Codes on the payments export. This would indicate that the entrant was processed from EE onto the Payment Gateway but EE failed to record the entrants details. The records have not been recorded at all not even as a incomplete entry.

I am really starting to worry as the entries are planned to exceed 4000 for this one event.

Hi Andrew,

Do you know if any of those 5 missing attendees were registered by a single user registering multiple users. As in User A registered and paid, and then repeats the same steps for User B straight after on the same device?

Hi Tony,

Its hard to say but i have seen that two of the entrants have the same surname as the entrant who registered just after, Im not sure on the other ones. What do you think could be creating this issue as its possibly going to create issues for me in the future.

Hi Andrew,

When this happens it is usually because they hit the back button from the payment gateway page to start a new registration, ignored the warnings not to, and ended up re-writing over their prior registration.
