Missing email when transaction fails

This is regarding the same issue originally posted in the this previous post:

We had two registrations today where no Registration Approved email was received or found to be sent in the Messages log.

One had a registration time of 7:49pm on the subject day showing a failed transaction at 7:52pm and a second Approved transaction at 8:40pm. The reason for the failed payment in EE4 was “Payment nonce is needed to process the transaction. No or incorrect payment nonce provided.”, our Braintree processor only shows the Approved transaction.

The other in question shows AVS failed both in EE4 and Braintree several times over a 5 minute period until finally Approved.

I have the Messages setting to Generate and send all messages set to “On the same request”. Seems I remember you giving advice on that setting and updating, but I do not remember if the setting could have been updated and now reverted.

Also, in Event Espresso > Messages > Settings, do you have Generate and send all messages set to “On a separate request” or is it set to “On the same request”?

You can set the setting to be “On a separate request” and that might help.
