Hello EE team. I am experiencing an issue with the Mini cart in EE 5. I am using Elementor on my site, and until EE 5 had zero issues with the plugin. Now, every time I attempt to update a page that has the mini cart in it I get the following error: “Invalid argument supplied for the EventEspresso\core\services\session\SessionStartHandler class, 1 were required but 0 were passed”

its seams that this is only an issue when attempting to update a page and not a template.

Thank you ~Chris

Hi Chris,

I’ll see if I can reproduce this locally.

To confirm I’m matching your set up, how are you adding the mini cart to the page?

Hey Tony, so if im in Elementor i have a section that has two tables in it. I embed the mini cart on the right side table using the “WordPress” dropdown and dragging in the Event Espresso Mini Cart Widget. It seems to work if I do a preview, however, once I hit update, I get the error. Just FYI, I’m running PHP 7.4.33 to keep Event Mover up and running, (unless it will do PHP 8 now?).

A huge thank you to you and the EE team, you guys are doing great work!

Just one more clarification, if I have an existing page that has the mini cart widget running, it seems to work fine. I just cant edit and update the page without getting the error.

Hi Chris,

My apologies for the delayed reply, the problem is I’m struggling to reproduce this.

Using Elementor I can create a page and add some text, headings etc to the page in Elementor. Then add the Cart Widget through the WordPress options and have it display and publish.

Then if I edit the page and change just say some text and update, it all works as expected.

Are there any other errors thrown with the above?

Where is that displayed? In the logs or on the page itself?

Whilst I’ve not managed to reproduce this with Elementor.

I can reproduce it with the standard Appearance -> Widgets menu.

I’ve created a ticket to investigate although I’m not 100% sure it will fix your issue.

Hey Tony, i may have found the culprit. We have Rank Math SEO installed and once I deactivated that the error went away.

Also, I notice that EE is having a major issue with the FileBird plugin. when I try to select a featured image I just get a blank image selection screen that has the left side menu text, however it is out of alignment and al jumbled up. Is there any way to roll things back to the last build of EE-4 while some of these bugs get worked out?

I spoke too soon. Disabling RankMath allowed me to publish a page I was editing, now I’m trying to insert an EE template into a new page and got this error.

Invalid arguments supplied for the EventEspresso\core\services\session\SessionStartHandlerclass, 1 were required by 0 were passed.

Disabling the “Event Espresso – MER – Multi Event Registration (EE 4.7.0+)” extension seamed to fix things. I was able to insert the page as expected.,
