We are looking into migrating from Event Espresso 3 to Event Espresso 4. We have a majority of our business come through online we registrations. If we only migrate from EE3 to EE4 (leave Word Press as is) with output changing our website URL and content, will this effect our SEO ranking? If so, how do we we mitigate this?

Hi there,

The kind of SEO advice you are looking for here is not something we can provide as it depends on your site’s individual setup. You need someone who can review the site, analyise what is working SEO wise, move over to EE4 and then monitor results from there.

The above isn’t a service we can provide nor is it something we can provide a straight answer to without all of the above but to answer your questions:

will this effect our SEO ranking?

Possibly, it depends on your setup.

The way events are dipays and the URL’s they use in EE4 are different to EE3.

If so, how do we we mitigate this?

Very much dependant on your set up.

Some of the changes EE4 makes could be consider similar to a redesign so you would make the same considerations and this article shows some:

In short you need someone familiar with the process to work with you on this.
