Hey guys, appreciate your assistance on this.

I had to reinstall another WP installation with the latest EE installation due to the current version is unable to update the EE and WP without crashing. I have been running EE on this site for 2-3 years and there are alot of transaction that we need to keep, for accounting purposes. Also, there are on going events on that site that we need to migrate over, the ongoing not such a big issue as I can register for them manually it’s the past events that I am more concerned about.

The current site:
WP version: 4.2.15
EE version: 4.6.31
Over 4k registrations
Over 500 events created

The new site:
WP version: 4.8.1
EE version: 4.9.46p

Hi there,

You can use tools like WP Migrate DB (free) or WP Migrate DB Pro ($, but highly recommended) to copy your original site’s database over to the new site’s database.

Hi Josh, thanks for your info, but its not just about the database migration. All the tables in the old database and the new one might be different. The whole website might crash.

I am starting the new website from scratch and reinstalling the new wp and ee. But I need to copy over the transactions.

Hi eventMaster,

You can’t really copy over only the transactions table from the other site, or even only Event Espresso tables because Event Espresso events are stored in the wp_posts table. So if you make an attempt at transferring over only the transactions table, you’ll have a list of transactions tied to no events.

The way forward will be to migrate the entire database from the original site, any attempt at partial data migration will be fraught with peril.

Is there a report function that I can download the transactions in an excel and/or pdf for record purposes.

That means at least we have a proper record before this migration and then we start database afresh. Does not really make sense to migrate the database to a site that is supposed to be lightweight and clean. I am not sure if there is anything in the database that is not allowing me to update my plugins, so migrating database is not really an option.

Yes you can go to Event Espresso > Registrations and click on the
“All Registrations CSV Report” button.

Awesome Josh. Thanks for informing. At least we have info from old site. I really wished there was an import in the new EE to put back this information to the new site.

If you change your mind about using the WP DB Migrate DB plugin you’ll be able to use the EE event data on the other site.
