Hello,

When migrating our multisite installation which had EE3 active on one subsite, to WPEngine, the installation got changed to a single site and WPEngine support had to reenable Multisite for us.

When accessing the dashboard after the migration, EE3 dashboard nag said we needed to configure EE3, but it has been in use for years on the other install.

Inspecting the general settings, quite bit of the info was indeed missing, so it was added back manually. However, the dashboard nag persists.

I did note that we are unable to save a logo, which was one of the things that disappeared after migration.

I also noted that the menu link for Event Posts is no longer in the menu.

I deactivated EE3 and reactivated it hoping it might clear whatever glitch is present but no joy.

What can we do to reset EE3 to normal install state?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi there,

When migrating our multisite installation which had EE3 active on one subsite, to WPEngine, the installation got changed to a single site and WPEngine support had to reenable Multisite for us.

When accessing the dashboard after the migration, EE3 dashboard nag said we needed to configure EE3, but it has been in use for years on the other install.

If it was on Multi-Site, then changed to a single site, then back to Multi-Site you will have lost your config as it sounds like the Multi-Site install was not migrated over correctly. You wouldn’t have needed to convert it over from single to multi again if it was.

Inspecting the general settings, quite bit of the info was indeed missing, so it was added back manually. However, the dashboard nag persists.

Whats happened is your ‘new’ site has pinged out servers from {domain}.wpegine.com which has flagged the key, once its flagged we need to reset it on our end to remove the notice.

You currently have 2 keys assigned to domains on your account, which of those keys would you like me to reset? I’m guessing the .com domain?

I did note that we are unable to save a logo, which was one of the things that disappeared after migration.

What happens when you try to save the logo?

I also noted that the menu link for Event Posts is no longer in the menu.

Can you add more details on this, please? For example which link and in which menu?

I deactivated EE3 and reactivated it hoping it might clear whatever glitch is present but no joy.

So far this doesn’t sound like a glitch in EE, it sounds like the site wasn’t migrated correctly.

What can we do to reset EE3 to normal install state?

I can reset your license key to remove the notice, however, we have no control over the site itself (the license key won’t affect any functionality mentioned above, only click updates) so it depends what you mean by the above, if you have missing data that’s not going to come back with a reset.
