Messages/Emails Functionality

I read the documentation for customizing message templates and it says ‘Each message type can be turned off, as well as different recipients (e.g. admins or registrants) can be turned off for different contexts. ‘

But it doesn’t say how to turn off specific recipients. I took out the ‘to’ registrant email and left it blank for that specific (registrant) template but it doesn’t seem to be working. Is there something else I am missing?

thanks

Hi, removing the shortcode in the TO field is how specific recipients are turned off.

See this screenshot:

The event admin and the registrant are currently enabled. However, the primary registrant is not as the shortcode in the TO field was removed which deactivated it (appears grey).

The exception to the setup above would be a custom template. If you are using a custom template that is assigned to an event, then you would need to edit the custom template. This is because a custom template that is assigned will override the global template.
