My messages are just sitting in queued for sending. I do not see the cron job in wp cron events. I only see: AHEE__EE_Cron_Tasks__expired_transaction_check and AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__cleanup

Hi there,

Can you add a screenshot of that page please:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots

Also, if you go to Dashboard -> Tools -> Site Health.

Wait around 30-40 seconds for the tests to complete, does it show anything to do with the loopback requests or scheduled tasks?

I did finally receive the emails they ran at 11:02pm.

Do you need me to create an account for you to check?

The AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__cleanup job runs a check for the other cron jobs and re-adds them to the stack if they are missing, which is likely why they started to come through (the cleanup job ran, added the others back in and they ran on the next schedule).

I wanted to make sure there wasn’t an issue with WP_CRON on the site and from the above, it doesn’t appear there is. Keep an eye on those cron job for a little and see if the other message crons keep getting removed, if so there could be a conflict with another plugin happening.

If you check the servers error logs are you getting any errors from Event Espresso? (Your host will usually have a section for you to view the error logs in your control panel)

The PHP session should be fixed, but that issue wont be from Event Espresso. We do use sessions but we use session_write_close() immediately after starting the session as mentioned in the site health output. So another plugin is likely using sessions and causing the above, any other e-commerce plugins installed?

I do not see the cron job added back that is supposed to run every 5 minutes.

This is a rare situation as I am also the hosting company ๐Ÿ™‚

No errors. I changed the AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__cleanup to run hourly and I am getting emails now.

I also see this now in the cron jobs

That’s not all that rare tbh ๐Ÿ™‚

No errors. I changed the AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__cleanup to run hourly and I am getting emails now.

Click run now on that cron, do you see:

AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__generation
AHEE__EE_Messages_Scheduler__sending

Listed on the next page load?

If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings.

Is the ‘Generate and send all messages’ option set to on the same request or on a separate request?

I also see this now in the cron jobs

Those are normal but arent part of the message system.

A new AHEE__EE_Cron_Tasks__expired_transaction_check cron is added each time EE creates a registration/transaction as its how EE checks for abandoned transactions. The ID of the newly created transaction is passed to the cron for EE to check.
