Hello,

It seems that our confirmation and reminder messages are no longer being sent, and I’m not sure why.

Our messages queue for ‘queued for sending’ shows 111 messages hung up. When I try the manual ‘send immediately option’ I receive the following error:

An error has occurred:
No message was sent because of problems with sending. Either all the messages you selected were not a sendable message, they were ALREADY sent on a different scheduled task, or there was an error. If there was an error, you can look at the messages in the message activity list table for any error messages.

Can you please assist in troubleshooting and getting a fix in place?

Some additional information:
We we use WP Mail SMTP plugin. It’s active, the connections has been tested and a test email was successfully sent and received.
I’ve also tested an email via the Health Check plugin. That successfully sent and was received as well.

Hi there,

Can you work through the message activity list table to find the last message that shows as sent, then take a screenshot of the messages that will be the first to process and add it here, please?

So your looking for the ‘next’ batch of messages that will be processed, I’m guessing something is sitting in the message queue on the next batch to generate that shouldn’t be and we’ll need to know what that is.

I tried clicking that on the first held one – fontini and received this error:

An error has occurred:

If there was an error, you can look at the messages in the message activity list table for any error messages.

Hi Tony, So it turns out the issue was the Php version. A team member had updated it to 8.3. I’ve reverted back to 8.1 and all messages are now green!

Switching PHP versions can be tricky and is best done in a staging environment where you can thoroughly test your site.

I’m glad you were able to identify that the server’s PHP version was the issue.

If you need any further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out!
