Hi, I am having a lot of problems with the Messages in ee4, and am considering giving up on the new release and going back to ee3. I have two specific concerns:
1. Confirmation email – In the old system, I could create a confirmation email that was specific for each event and that email was sent to every registrant automatically. I have tried to customise the “Registration Approved” message to do this in ee4 but it seems to make the change system wide – not just for the specific event. This is no use to me. I have to be able to tailor this confirmation email for each event.
2. One-off ad-hoc email – In the lead up to an event, there are some emails I send to remind them to do various things. And on occasion there might be a change that I need to communicate to all resistrants. In ee3, it was easy to send an email to handle both of these situations. I don’t seem to be able to do this in ee4.
1) Are you customising the messages via the Messages tab or via the event? If the former, then for event specific messages, edit an event and scroll to the Notifications section (https://monosnap.com/image/GCcYXCSGb56BCZg6AxNMeMzqoqwD7A) near the bottom of the page and click the Create New Custom button for the message you wish to edit. This will create a custom message that can be used for a single (or multiple if you wish) event.
2) In the latest version of EE4 is the Newsletter message type. You may need to activate it by going to Messages > Settings tab > drag the newsletter from the Inactive box to the Email Settings box (https://monosnap.com/image/kMzM9MEHnaB9CVVCIgQqiDzErAWvvM)
I hope that helps, but if you have any other questions regarding this, please just ask.
