Hi,

I am making some changes to my email templates when I add [DATE_START] & [TIME_START] to the events list I get the following error.

The following shortcodes were found in the “[EVENT_LIST]” field that ARE not valid: [DATE_START],[TIME_START]

Are these shortcodes only able to be used inside the datetime_list?

Thanks

Hi there,

Yes, those shortcodes are only valid in the datetime_list section.

If you click on the icon on each section you’ll see a list of available shortcodes for that section.

Is there any scope to make these available throughout the whole email?

No, the shortcodes are added to each section based on the objects available to that section.

You could call [DATETIME_LIST] from within [EVENT_LIST] and display the [DATE_START],[TIME_START] values through that.

The problem with pulling in those shortcodes in the event list is if the event has multiple datetimes the EE doesn’t know which datetime you want to display the start date/time from.

Is there any event shortcodes available for batch messages?

Not currently.

All of the shortcodes available are shown in ff you click on the icon on each section, if they aren’t shown there they aren’t available in that message. The list is dynamically generated based on the shortcodes loaded for that message type.
