Hi Using the MER plugin I am running coach trips. They run as main person booking is first passenger, then I have additional passengers On a single event this works fine When I use this format for MER events and get to the registration I have the following (based on 2 trips with 2 people on each) Main person, name address details When this is presented it looks like there are 4 people on one trip I am not sure how to resolve this – any ideas greatly appreciated Thanks |
Hi Jonathan, Within EE each ticket is a registration, so selecting 4 tickets is 4 registrations. You can either capture details for each registration (each individual ticket), or only the primary registration (the first ticket). So whats happening currently is you have the events setup to collect information on each registration, when a user register onto multiple events EE will then request details for each registration across those events. I’m assuming you need information from each attendee when they register onto a single event and select multiple tickets? If so you’ll need to keep the setup you currently have but the user will need to enter their details twice in the above scenario. |

Thanks Tony So how I currently have this set up the first registrant (the primary registrant) is the first passenger. The second passenger would be Additional Passenger Is this correct in the way it is selecting the fields – I perhaps need to rename to Passenger or such like In this scenario is there only every one primary registrant or should there be a primary registrant per trip (Hope that makes sense) Thanks |
There is only ever 1 primary registrant for any GROUP of registrations, it’s the first ticket added to the ‘cart’, any additional tickets are additional registrations regardless of if they are from the same event or not. So with that:
That’s expected, EE is requesting the Primary registration info for the first ticket, any additional tickets will request what is set for the events ‘additional registrations’ question group. You can’t have it do both in that you can’t have EE request additional details for a group of registrations in a single event and then only request 1 set of details for MER registrations on multiple events. |

So probably the best way round this would be to call “Additional Passenger” simply “Passenger” then have the primary registrant also collect passenger detail I will give this a go |
Sure that should work. You can also add a description to the question group and set that to display to make that clearer if needed. You set that within the question group itself: Event Espresso -> registration form -> Question Groups -> Additional Passenger/Passenger |

Thanks Tony Will do that |
You’re most welcome, please do let me know if you have any further questions. |
