running e.e. Event Espresso – 3.1.34.1.P 1. My events are showing “members only”, but on the back end I have it selected as “no” for the question of members only. We launched today and already I’m getting some pretty nasty feed back, need an answer pretty quick on that. 2. My new website is loading terribly slow, the host is telling me this is because of E.E. Should I believe him? Has this been a problem reported by others? Anything I can do. We’ve only got about 5 events even listed right now, not sure once we start adding to it if it’s going to get worse. |
HI Wendeth, A couple questions to try and debut this. Do you have “member” prices added to the event even though this is not a ‘member-only’ event? The member-price will be displayed for people who are logged-in to your website. The member-only event means they have to be registered and logged-in in order to register. We haven’t had any reports of Event Espresso running slow lately. We did a lot of database optimization several months ago, but it wouldn’t hurt to upgrade to 3.1.35. Are there certain pages that are slow or everything in general? Do you have a second website with that host on the same server? Who is your host? |

Thanks for your replies. We only have this website, which is why some things I’m just now seeing because before we had a test or building address which was temporary until the IP was ready to be changed. Our host is guide creative. The whole site in general is running quite slowly, which was not the case when I was working in the test/temp address. |

Okay, so I’m now noticing AFTER I delete the member price and hit update it auto populates a member price again. |
Hi there, Can you go to Event Espresso>Member Settings and make sure that the “Require login for all events? setting is set to “No”? |

Yes, I did that. It did fix the “member only” issue, but I’m still getting auto populated pricing. I’m a bit concerned now, when I do want to do member only events or pricing this could become an issue. |
The current version of of the WP user integration add-on requires a price set for members and non-members, it’s a 1-1 relationship. Even if the event will be members only. If there’s a non-members price set there needs to be a corresponding members price an vice versa. The price system will not let you delete an corresponding price by design. This will change in a future version of Event Espresso where it will not be a requirement. When you do start offering member pricing and member only events you can enter them as needed and with that set the non-members pricing accordingly. |
