Max No of tickets allowed per order for this event with Multi Event Registration

Not sure if I don’t understand how it’s intended to work or if it’s not working properly – most likely the former. I have purchased EE4 (4.8.34.p) and Multiple Event Registrations (2.0.9.p) I have an event setup with 10 different tickets. I want the person to be able to select only one of the tickets. At first, it works they way I expected. Each ticket displays with a radio button. BTW, I have 5 such events setup where I want them to select just one ticket in each Event. Then I try to act like a 14 year old who will be filling this out. I suspect they will change their minds as friends will most likely complete together and want to pick the same schedule. So I add a ticket in event one – all is good. Then I go back and select a different radio button ticket in event one and add it to the cart (by clicking the now View Cart button) It adds that item to the list. So now I have 2 tickets in Event 1 – which isn’t supposed to happen. I thought that maybe when I went to Process it might complain that I can’t do that. But, it doesn’t. I am sure there is some classic setting/ installation/etc… that I am doing to make this so. BTW, this is setup on a development environment (wamp on local machine. So, I didn’t put in the activation codes – Thought I’d throw that in if it makes any difference) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

So just to confirm, you have ‘Max No of tickets allowed per order for this event’ set to 1 for the event that you are adding to the cart?

Then if you change the qty from within the cart it allows you to add more than 1 ticket for that event?

Is that right?

Thank you for your reply. To confirm –
Yes – I do have the Max no of tickets allowed … set to 1.
No. The cart add (plus sign button) and “Update Cart” buttons work as they should – NOT as you described above.

Here is my process of confusion:
1. I add a ticket from an event (with only one allowed). It pops up with a box asking me where I want to go next.
2. I return to my event list, I can keep adding tickets from the same event by selecting any option and clicking the “View Event Cart” button. (Name changed, orig. function doesn’t)
3. Then, I can view my cart (it shows multiple tickets for the event)
4. From my cart I can click “proceed to Registration” and Complete the registration without it catching the multiple tickets for one event.

I know this seems ridiculous but I was just trying to replicate how someone might handle it if they selected one ticket and then changed their mind.

Does that help? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Jen

Thank you for the details Jen 🙂

I can reproduce this and have created a ticket for our developers to investigate, we will post any updates in this thread.

I know this seems ridiculous but I was just trying to replicate how someone might handle it if they selected one ticket and then changed their mind.

It’s a little of an edge case, but not by that much. However if they change their mind they’ll need to empty the cart anyway, the selection will not be remembered within the ticket selector so what should happen is if the select another ticket it should show something like this – http://take.ms/ojrx8

(Ignore the contents of the cart, that’s from me testing your steps)

So then they would need to empty the cart and select the correct ticket.

Hi!
Curious where you guys are standing on this.

The main problem I have is that EE allows the person to purchase 2 tickets for one event (where they can only select one) and go right to checkout. Do you have work around I can try? (I don’t like but can live with it adding the ticket to the cart if the system can catch it before checking out) Essentially I want the system to perform that same check when the “update event cart” button is selected to happen on the “Proceed to Registration” button. Does that make sense? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

There’s a ticket assigned to a developer to fix this issue. For now, one way to avoid the issue you’ve reported here is deactivate the Multi Event Registration plugin.
