Hi there,

Can you please help me to fix my ticket, my map is not showing on the ticket. I can’t figure it out. Even if I have to pay for a token. I’m not a WP savvy. Thank you

Hi there,

Can you either link me an event with a free ticket on that I can register onto (you can setup a test event and set it to be password protected to prevent normal users from registering, then just post the link and password here), or post the link to a test registration ticket so I can have a look?

Ok, your getting error 403 on the Google Maps API request.

First, double check that your Google Maps API key is valid in Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Google Maps Settings.

Then, confirm that key has access to the static maps API in your google maps console.

Or click the link under the API key in general settings and generate a new key, making sure it has access to at least the static maps API.

Ok, that changes things a little but I don’t think the edit caused this.

Are you 100% sure that worked before the edit?

What exactly did you change on the ticket?

The request to Google is showing 403 (Unauthorized) and when I pull your key into my site (which I’ve set to use the same venue details and works with my key) as soon as I set your key on the site I get 403 and no map.

Have you enabled billing within your Google account? Google maps are no longer ‘free’ and they require billing is set up on your account. They give you a credit (iirc its $300 a month) and then after that bill you for any additional usage so you must have billing enabled for it to work.

Within your key do you have restrictions set? This section – https://monosnap.com/file/s7QDuNjJbOgFU3bEqnpLN9yXUoL6Di

That’s in the Google Cloud platform console -> Credentials -> {API KEY}

Yeah, but again, I don’t think this is from customizing the ticket.

I took your key from your site and tested it on one of my test sites, I get the same issue there and I know that ticket template doesn’t have issues as it works fine with my key.

So the issue appears to be with your Google Maps key/account, not the changes you made to the ticket/template.

Whilst logged into the Google account you create the key with, go here:

https://cloud.google.com/console/google/maps-apis/overview

What do you see?

You’ll need to host the image and include a link here.

We have some details on how to add screenshots here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots

You can also send them to support[at]eventespresso.com if preferred although not that the total size of the email must not exceed 10MB.
