Hi,

I am trying to understand exactly how to manually register someone if they come into my shop and say they would like to sign up for a class. So far I have figured out that I go to that event on the backend of my website. Then I click on registrations for that event. Then I click “add new registration” at the top. I fill out all pertinent information within the registration form. Then I click on “view transaction” —> “add payment.” Now this is where I get confused. It seems as though Stripe is sometimes an option and sometimes not. Why is that? And if it is an option, how does that work? When I click on it, it does not pop up my stripe so what am I supposed to do?

Thanks,
Cindra

Hi Cindra,

Payments cannot be processed through the WP dashboard of your site.

If registrants/attendees are signing up at the class, then you could accept a payment via a mobile device using an app like Square, PayPal here, or Quickbooks Payments.

You could also process the payment through Stripe.com:

https://support.stripe.com/questions/phone-orders

Then you can manually add the payment through the transaction details screen.

Right. I realize that EE and/or wordpress is not actually processing the payment. But like you said I can add the payment through the transaction details to keep track of the payment/registration.

So my question remains mostly the same:

So far I have figured out that I go to that event on the backend of my website. Then I click on registrations for that event. Then I click “add new registration” at the top. I fill out all pertinent information within the registration form. Then I click on “view transaction” —> “add payment.” Now this is where I get confused. It seems as though Stripe is sometimes an option and sometimes not. Why is that? And if it is an option, how does that work? I know that I go to my stripe dashboard to charge them but then do I need to come back and put in a txn ID that I get from the stripe payment?

Now this is where I get confused. It seems as though Stripe is sometimes an option and sometimes not. Why is that?

If Stripe is set to be ‘Usable from’ the admin then it should always appear there – http://take.ms/fuPXw (if that option is checked)

Is it not showing for specific transactions? If so whats different about those transactions from where it does show?

And if it is an option, how does that work? I know that I go to my stripe dashboard to charge them but then do I need to come back and put in a txn ID that I get from the stripe payment?

You don’t ‘need’ to input the transaction ID, but you should. At some point you’ll need to reference a specific transaction from Stripe, if you don’t input the TXN ID from Stripe when you make the payment, this is going to get much harder to manage as time goes on.

I posted further details on the Stripe txn id in your other thread here:

Ok. great! I completely understand. I had to check stripe in my “usable from”
