Manual addition of attendees / Price options missing

I am using version 3.1.24.1.P.

I have several price options configured for an event. The option is displayed in the list of attendees, but I can’t find it on the attendee edit screen.

Furthermore, when I try to add an attendee manually via the back end, I only see a field for “Amount Paid”. I don’t see a dropdown box with the price options, or any other place to specify the option.

Have I misconfigured something? If not, I don’t see how I can use the manual addition of attendees because I’ll never be able to set their price option properly.

Please advise.

These features are scheduled to be added in 3.2. I can recommend adding attendees through the front-end of the site and use the price option dropdown.

Thank you for the clarification.

Unfortunately I think this leaves us in quite a bind. Maybe you can offer another suggestion for how to handle our specific situation?

  • We have a maximum class size of 25 people (a contractual limitation)
  • Usually 7-8 people do not show up.
  • Therefore, we have an overflow event to allow up to 10 people to get on the waiting list.
  • We show people on the waiting list specific instructions both on the registration page and in the custom email they are being sent, to please come to the class anyways because they will PROBABLY get in.
  • If they show up and DON”T get in, they are offered a discount on any future class they would like to attend.

If people cancel on the main event, we need to move people on the waiting list to the main event without making the event live and allowing someone to steal their place. (The site is quite busy and this is very possible.)

Just had another thought… is there some way to hide the main event from the public, but still access and use the registration page if I am logged in as admin?

Yes, set the event status to draft -OR- set it to members only if you’re not using the WP User integration.

I think we’ve found a satisfactory workaround that involves custom emails and quite a bit of manual intervention. Still finalizing the details…

However, I think there may be a bug that you might want to look into. I don’t have time to do thorough testing at the moment, but here is what I think I saw:

I tried setting the event to DRAFT. I verified that I could access the registration page while logged in. BUT, the page was also accessible to non-logged in users (I was using a different browser). More importantly, the draft event was still appearing in the event list, and in the the event widget.

Shouldn’t DRAFT events excluded automatically from the event list and widget?

The draft event URL should still be accessible if you’re not logged in, but it shouldn’t display on the list. I do not think the upcoming events widget was updated to include support for draft events though. We have a few open tickets to update the upcoming events widget to support some of the newer features of Event Espresso.
