Hi,

Is there a possibility of having two separate groups (based on capability or role) to manage events and registrations? The case is; we have on client already using EE, they want to give another organization access to the same WP instance to add events as well and also manage the user registrations. However, both organizations should not be able to edit each other’s events and registrations.

Do you have any ideas about this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Event Espresso was designed to be used to manage your own events, however, having said that there are multiple capability checks throughout the plugin so you can create a role with access to specific date.

I’ve previously created an example plugin which adds 2 roles to the site for this:

https://monosnap.com/file/qUKeT73ASIAzTRUNX6Hlb1J59vMWgz

(You activate that plugin then de-activate and delete it, it is no longer needed once the roles have been added to the database)

That plugin creates 2 roles:

Event Organizer – this role has access to the events (and related data) that the user is to to the author of.

Events Manager – this role has access to all of Event Espresso, but not the rest of the WP Dashboard.

You may need to adjust the capabilities used on those roles to suit your specific needs but the above should get you started.
