Hi, I’ve previously (early this year) made two changes using POEdit and they worked well. Now I needed to make another change and noticed the earlier changes were back to the default. I made the new changes which worked fine but I cannot get the first changes to work again. I deleted the .po and .mo files, recreated and uploaded them. I also removed the changes and saved then made the same changes again but nothing works. However my change that I needed to make today still works. I wanted to change the line Add More Attendees? “(click to toggle, limit” to “Add more names (Up to” It worked for a while now doesn’t. I am using: Any idea why some changes work and some don’t? I also wanted to clarify what folder the .po and .mo files should be in. I read on one post to put it in the uploads/languages folder and in others to put it in the wp-content/event-espresso/languages folder. Thanks for your help! |
Hi Randy, Here is the detailed documentation on how to do what you are wanting to do: Note that you need to upload both the new .po and .mo files to |

Hi Jonathan, that is the procedure that I followed. I am able to change one line but not two others that I wanted to make changes to. I also put both files in the uploads wp-content/uploads/event-espresso/languages folder. I also tried uploading them to the p-content/plugins/event-espresso/languages but there is no change from either location. I am able to change one text string but not two others. What should I try next? |

The msgid string in the po file must match exactly the translatable string that is in the code. So the line you quoted above should have an entry in the po file that is:

Hi Sidney, I may have had a typo in original post. Here is the original text string from the po file: Add More Attendees? (click to toggle, limit there is not a percent symbol or closed parenthesis in the original line. Is it possible the po file I’m using is outdated? thanks! |
Yes it’s possible, especially if the PO file was from one year ago. You can download a more recent one from our Github page: |

thanks Josh, I did need to update the .po file as some of the text strings had changed from my old copy. I suppose that from now on, I’ll have to watch for my changes to disappear and just download a new po file in the future. |
