Hi guys,

I collect names and emails for every attendee. Does the mailchimp intergration push over the data from each attendee, one attendee, or just the registrant?

I also noticed that a recent registrant used their email for themselves, attendee 1, as well as attendee 2 (different name). It updated their contact with mailchimp with the name of attendee 2, which I thought was odd. Can that be explained?

Thanks, Derek

Hi Derek,

Does the mailchimp intergration push over the data from each attendee, one attendee, or just the registrant?

Whats the difference between the attendee and registrant in that context? Or did you mean the Primary Registrant?

To answer your question, the details of each registration are passed over to mailchimp.

I also noticed that a recent registrant used their email for themselves, attendee 1, as well as attendee 2 (different name). It updated their contact with mailchimp with the name of attendee 2, which I thought was odd. Can that be explained?

MailChimp allows you to add email addresses to a list(s), the names associated with the address you can consider meta/additional data. They don’t allow you to have the same email address listed multiple times with different first/last names on the same list, so if a subscribe call fails, we check the error code to confirm if the email is already subscribed and call to update.
