Hi I’m getting this error when adding MailChimp API key: An error occurred while attempting to connect to the MailChimp server. Error: Could not connect (ERR -1232301784: Unable to find the socket transport “ssl” – did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP?) |
Hi there, This sounds like it’s more of a server configuration issue, which your host should be able to work out. Here’s a link to a reference that they might be find helpful: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1705856/socket-transport-ssl-in-php-not-enabled |

Hi, The site has been moved to a different server and problem solved. However testing the integration with Mailchimp the name and email used for registration at our test event didn’t sign us up on the Mailchimp newsletter list? |
Hi Mending, Did you receive the confirmation email from Mailchimp and confirm the subscription? It may have ended up in your spam folder. |
Hi, No I have not received any confirmation mail from Mailchimp. It’s not in my spam folder either. |
Hi, I assume you have turned Mailchimp on in the event itself, and selected the correct list and group? If so, could you please provide a link to the event so I can test? |
Hi, Yes I have. It is the first event in September month here: [removed] Please remove link aferwards.

Nothing has come through here from Mailchimp either. Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this? If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ NOTE: login details need to be Admin level. |

Hi Dean Information has been send now. Thanks |
Hi, OK I thought this might be the case, but wanted to check your settings. The list needs to have a group attached to it otherwise the email wont come through. I am not 100% sure if this is a bug or intended behaviour, so I will raise a developer ticket for it, but in the meantime if you add a group to the list you are using and make sure that group is selected in the event, the emails should come through. |
Hi, Right, thanks. That worked though it seem unecessary that one should do so if not any group is needed? Please fix this for future update so that Mailchimp API will work with just a List alone. Thanks |
Hi, Glad it’s working now. I have already raised a ticket to check to see if this is intended behaviour or not, and if not to fix it. |
Thanks |
