Mailchimp integration problem

I just installed EE yesterday with Mailchimp add on. Mailchimp is showing that there are API calls coming from EE, but there aren’t any subscribers getting added to my list. To my untrained eye, it looks like the data is going to Mailchimp, but Mailchimp doesn’t like the data?

I setup this mailchimp account to be used only for this EE installation.

Subscribers are not getting opt-in emails either.

Here’s a screen shot of the API calls that mailchimp is showing. Maybe this will make more sense to you than me?

Hi,

I know you just installed the plugin yesterday, but can you confirm the version of EE and the version of the Mailchimp add on please.

Out of the 5 errors, the 2 I am concerned with are errors 270 List_InvalidInterestGroup, as they are the ones that are appearing when trying to subscribe a user.

In your Mailchimp settings within the event, you obviously select a list, does a secondary dropdown menu appear with a list of groups?

“Subscribers are not getting opt-in emails either.” This is set by your mailchimp settings or the plugin code, by default Double Optin is set.

Thanks for the prompt reply!!!

EE: Version 3.1.35.P
Mail Chimp: Version 1.1

There’s no secondary menu dropdown.

Ok,

Thanks for that.

I think it is an issue where there is no groups, it tries to find it and fails so breaks. We have a fix for this in place.

I have emailed you at the email we have on file for you, a copy of the Beta version with this fix in place. Can you install it (you will need to remove the current mailchimp from your site) and see if it resolves the issue?

Looks like it’s working, one test went through so far.

Didn’t see the Mailchimp stuff about groups, but I’ve set some groups up now.

If I can offer one tip…I didn’t find much info about setting up Mailchimp because there really isn’t much to setting it up. But for me, since it didn’t work, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what else I had to do to make it work. If somewhere in the documentation you can just show that the steps are ridiculously simple, then it might save people like me (Who think this stuff should be really hard) some time.

Thanks for making it simple though!

Thanks again for the help, really impressed with the speed of your replies!

Hi,

Thanks, and I am glad that seems to be working, please let me know if it starts to fail, as mentioned that is a Beta version of the plugin.

Documentation is here https://eventespresso.com/wiki/mailchimp-integration/. If you think it isn’t sufficient, please let me know, I wrote it but it’s not always easy to look at it from a customers point of view so feedback is always welcome.

Can you recheck the groups in your mailchimp account and in the dropdown on the event editor page? That 270 error seems to indicate that you have a group selected for the event that does not exist in your mailchimp account.
