I have integrated mail chimp and selected my list in the event editor and two people signed up for my class and their email was not added to the list. No error messages, no notifications, just not there.

Hi Beth,

Which version number of Event Espresso are you using?

Which version number of the MailChimp Add-on are you using?

We are using EE3 and version 1.2 of the add-on. Thank you!

Hi Beth,

Could you double-check that the list is selected via the event editor? For example, if you select the list and then close the window without saving, then those changes won’t be saved.

Also, the registrants/attendees would need to click on the opt-in link that is sent via MailChimp. That is sent out via MailChimp after the registration is confirmed.

Did either of the attendees receive that email?

I will have to ask the attendees, but the list is selected in Mailchimp. I’ll get back to you with an answer.

Another way to check if everything is working.

Log into MailChimp go to Account -> Extras -> API Keys.

Scroll to the bottom and you’ll find a graph with a list of all your API Calls in the last 24 hours – http://take.ms/1eFgm

Run a test registration on one of your events using an email that is not already subscribed. Then fresh the API page and look at the calls made, do you see any errors?

I just did that and I got a confirmation from Mailchimp, I hit confirm, and I go back to the call and it says a new person is added. I received the message from Mailchimp in that email account after the message was sent, so it appears to be working and we just need to make sure that all attendees know about it and to confirm the list! Thanks.

Great, I’m glad its working.

Also to note, the opt in emails can also take a little while to send from MailChimp. I’ve seen delays of around 40mins before now (rare but does happen) just something to be aware of when monitoring registrations vs newsletter signups.
