Correct, if the user is already subscribed to the list then the registration will update the groups on that list. Note that it will only add groups and not remove them, so if they register onto Event A with Group 1 & 2 selected then they subscribed and will be set on Group 1 & 2. If they then Register onto Event B which has Group 1 and 3 selected (or just Group 3) then that registrations add Group 3 to the subscriber meaning they are now set on Group 1, 2 & 3, not just Group 3 from the last registration.
Yes, there is an option to disable double all double opt-in emails. However, if you leave the double opt-in option enabled then if a user is not subscribed to your list and registers onto an event they’ll receive an opt-in email. If they are already subscribed and you’re just updating the Groups (as above) then no double opt-in email is triggered anyway. |
