We had someone registered yesterday and their credit card was rejected, but they didn’t know it until they received an email saying that their registration was incomplete.
I know on many sites, if you put in invalid credit card info, it is rejected immediately, or comes up as an error so the user can correct it.
Event Espresso seems to allow the registration to go through, but leaves the payment as pending. Is there a way to change this? We are using EE3 with First Data.
When the card is declined using FirstData or even the other gateways in EE3, it will say Payment Status: Declined. It should not say Payment Pending unless you have the Default Payment Status option set to Payment Pending, which you can change in the Event options for each event, or for all events in Event Espresso > General Settings.
Another thing that you can change is the Show payment options for “Pending Payments” on the Payment Overview page? option. If you set this option to Yes, the Payment Overview page will continue to show the payment buttons until the payment is marked as completed.
