Listing only certain events on one page instead of all of them

I have the decaf version installed and I am trying to figure out how to have one page list only classes that are named X and another page with only classes called Y. I found the shortcut from the documentation section.

Display a list of events from a specific category on a WordPress page or post
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=your_event_category_slug]

How do I find my “your_event_category_slug” where would this be located? Would it be my url? My event ID? My event name?

Hi Alexis,

I have move your thread to the community forum.

When you create categories within Event Espresso you go to:

Event Espresso -> Events -> Categories.

You’ll see a list like this – http://take.ms/FFUue

There you can find your Event category slug.

A category slug is basically a website friendly name for your category that includes not special characters and no spaces etc, it is created from your category name.

Does the event slug not work with the Table Template?

I currently have:

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS_TABLE_TEMPLATE order_by=event_name table_striping=false table_paging=false ]

but would like to add a slug:
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS_TABLE_TEMPLATE category_slug=”adult-cpraed” order_by=event_name table_striping=false table_paging=false ]

The slug won’t work with the table template but it does by itself:

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=”adult-cpraed”]

How do you add a slug to the table template?

Hi Alexis,

I might be mistaken, but I do not believe that the ESPRESSO_EVENTS_TABLE_TEMPLATE shortcode will function with Event Espresso decaf. That’s added with an add-on that’s compatible only with EE caffeinated.

Sorry, I recently purchased the EE caffeinated complete package with all add-ons after I posted my first post.

So with the complete EE caffeinated version this is my issue:

Does the event slug not work with the Table Template?
I currently have:
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS_TABLE_TEMPLATE order_by=event_name table_striping=false table_paging=false ]
but would like to add a slug:
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS_TABLE_TEMPLATE category_slug=”adult-cpraed” order_by=event_name table_striping=false table_paging=false ]
The slug won’t work with the table template but it does by itself:
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=”adult-cpraed”]
How do you add a slug to the table template?

Can I not just show one class category in the table template view?

You can, and if you remove the quote marks around the category slug that should fix things for you. There’s more information about how to set up the shortcode + parameters in the documentation:

Thank you for the fast support!

Something so small always makes a difference! Removed the “” and it works great!
