How do I link to an event category as a URL? I tried just adding the shortcode to the site, but it didn’t work.

Hi,
These are good shortcodes that can be added to a post or page to generate a list of events in a specific category
[EVENT_LIST category_identifier=your_category_identifier]
or
[EVENT_LIST event_category_id=your_category_identifier]
or
[EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”your_category_indentifier”]

There isnt really a way to show the categories via URL currently. ¤.0 onwards will use a custom post type that will allow that though.

So, is the idea that I create a page, then put that code on it? Then link to the page?

That’s right, Becky.
1) Create the category
2) assign the events to the category/categories
3) add the applicable category shortcode to a page/post
4) add the page/post to your website navigation/links
