Link so that Registrants can Verify their Registrations online

I can’t find any topics on this, however…

Muy client is requiring a way for registrants to go to our website and click a link that would allow them to search the registrations, find their own and verify that they are indeed registered.

The reason?

Many tickets for our events are sold, not online, but at events where the tickets are offered at bulk rates. The registration information is collected on paper and input online.

Having a way for registrants to check that their information was accurately input WITHOUT having to bother the event staff would be VERY helpful.

ALSO, if there were a quick way that bulk registrations could be input by uploading a CSV file (for instance) would be helpful.

So… how do I accomplish these requests?

Hi Brian,

I’m assuming EE4 here.

Regarding the online checking, you could input the attendee via the admin and send the notification emails (or do it from the front end and these will send automatically).

You can modify the emails of course, and include these shortcodes:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_FRONTEND_EDIT_REG_LINK]
[RECIPIENT_EDIT_REGISTRATION_LINK]

(the shortcodes need to go in the respective Messenger type)

They will provide a link where they can go to edit their registration data.

However, there is no button to click to say they are verified – Payment normally confirms that they are going to the event.

Regarding the import, currently there is no bulk import functionality, it’s something we are working on.

Dean,

Thank you!

I was actually hoping to find a way that DIDN’T require one of our staff doing the work. The idea is that the registrant can go to the website and verify their registration all by themselves.

I assume that’s an impossibility?

Hi,

Well if the staff member is adding the attendee into the system, once the emails are set up with the correct shortcodes, it’s merely a matter of making sure the checkbox to “send related messages” is ticked when adding the attendee.

The emails can be worded for the attendee to then click the link to check and if needed modify their data.

Other than that I can’t see a way to achieve what you are trying to do, barring some sort of customisation to the plugin.

True, but this also assumes that the original registrant has legible handwriting and the staff member who inputs the email address didn’t somehow misspell it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I will present this to my client, but they are strong-willed and I will still have to figure out a way. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you

Hi Brian,

The other feature that may help (but will not help if email addresses get misspelled when input) is the WP User Integration add-on’s My Events section on the user profile page. If the registrants have an account on your site, they can view all their registrations on their profile page.

Oh Interesting. I’ll take a look at that feature. Thank you

Anything else we can help with Brian?

Well, where in the system is the registrant info located so that maybe I can find a programmer who can create the registration lookup tool?

Hi,

It depends on where you are in the system when trying to obtain that data. For instance you may need to do a direct database call, or the data may already be available via the various Objects and Classes EE4 has available to use.

This may be of use to the developer: http://code.eventespresso.com/
