Limiting tickets for multiple datetimes

Hi there,

I’m running EE4 and it’s great 🙂
However, I need help with an issue…

My site will be selling ticket to Triathlon training weekends, but for each event we will be selling either:

A Weekend Ticket at £50
A Saturday Ticket at £30
or a
Sunday Ticket at £30

I want to limit the event so that on either day no more than 20 tickets are sold
I need to somehow link the Weekend Tickets to the Day Tickets. So, for example, I can sell:

20 Saturday Tickets and 20 Sunday Tickets
or
10 Weekend Tickets, 10 Saturday Tickets and 10 Sunday Tickets

What would be the best way to go about this?
If I haven’t explained it well enough, just let me know.

Many thanks in advance,

Cormac

P.s – I’m running the latest WordPress version, EE4, and it’s a new install

Hi Cormac,

First, add the maximum quantity of each kind of ticket: http://cl.ly/image/0w190B2o441z

Then go to the datetime and enter the total number of registrants that should be able to attend. We have 25 for this example:

The last part is assigning tickets to datetimes. Click on the gear icon (advanced option) for the datetime and new settings will appear:

Remove the checkmark from the tickets that you don’t want to be assigned to that datetime — for example a date on the weekend should be available for a weekend ticket.

Then save changes to your event.

Hi Lorenzo, many thanks for your reply. Turns out I was using it correctly, it just became confusing when I clicked ‘Show ticket details’ on the front-end and it listed:

This Ticket Sold, This Ticket Left, Total Tickets Sold and Total Spaces Left

I guess that’s to be expected when there is more than one ticket for the same event but at different datetimes (I’m getting confused even just writing about it now).

Perhaps I can hide all the details on the front-end for the customers except ‘Total Spaces Left’ I guess I could do this via the templates?

Many thanks,

Cormac

Hi Cormac,

The individual items do not currently have a unique CSS id so you can’t target certain elements without removing all of them. This will be possible in a future version of Event Espresso 4.

You can continue to use it as it or try hiding the more details link.
