Hi. I am working on site: http://engageinstemfc.com/

We only want the first FOUR EVENTS to show up… but some reason it is showing all of them.

We are using this shortcode: [EVENT_LIST limit=4]

But the home page shows all active events…. what can we do to fix this?
Thanks!
Gary

Hello Ggraves,

The shortcode limit feature definitely works, so the only thing I can think is that something is conflicting. Was it working previously or has the shortcode only been recently added?

Have you tested the shortcode elsewhere (i.e a test page) to see if its working?

If you like I can login to your site and have a look.

If so, please send login details via https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Hello

Ok, so I have spent quite some time in your site this morning, trying to figure out what this issue could be as I cant recreate it locally.

I believe that the fundamental issue lies in the fact the plugin is outdated and has since had numerous bug fixes done to it.

I would advise you to add your licence key (found in your account settings here) to the site (general settings) and updating the plugin after backing up whatever you need to.

If that doesnt resolve the issue, please let me know and I can get a dev to look into it, but im 99% certain an update will resolve it.

P.S. I added fake Registration start/end dates and times to MSP Talk on Alternative Energy by Rudy Perez, as sometimes not having this information can also cause a problem.

Thanks Dean. ok – so I loaded the license number. Do I have to do something activate it to get the automatic updates to start working? Thanks! Gary

ok – now on version 3.1.26.P. Still same results. short code not working…
my test page: http://engageinstemfc.com/eventtest/ still shows all activated.. not just the 4 we need.

I’ve deleted all the extra directories and unused plugins…

Hi Gary,

I wasnt expecting that.

If this has been an issue from the start, it would be good to test another theme, TwentyEleven is a good choice. Just to see if its a theme issue. It would also be a good idea to take the other plugins (none Event Espresso) offline and reactivate one by one. A thorough test.

I can do that for you if you want, but it may be better for you to obviously a conflict somewhere.
