We’re using a staging site to prevent any unwanted effects after updating any plugin on the live site.
The staging site runs on the same domain, but in an different folder.
Live is located in http://www.domain.tld and staging in http://www.domain.tld/staging
We use the plugin WP Staging Pro for handling.
Now we’ve found out that we cannot update event espresso plugin on the staging site due to the message “Your current account does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain”
For us it is necessary to check the updates first, because we’ve made some modifications, especially in CSS and find out that you change sometimes the code (last time from <b> to ) and don’t want to show a wrong page to our customers.
One option is you remove the key from the live site, then run the updates one the staging site. The live site will retain 100% of the functionality with the support license key.
