License transition

hello EE team,
we are changing the primary domain for our site and moving to a new host. how can I transition the license key to avoid downtime?

Hi there

The license key doesn’t affect EE’s functionality, so you won’t have any downtime due to changing license keys/domains. The only effect the license key has is to allow one-click updates and provide support.

When your site has moved and is on the new domain, go to your account page and request a reset on your license key. Once your license key has reset you will receive instructions via email to re-assign the key to the new domain (in short, remove the key, save, replace the key, save…. after the rest has been done).
