Now what should I do with it? Should I copy and paste it to plugin general setting

I notice that my license is only good through 8/1/2012. I’m real sure that when I originally bought a license for Event Espresso, it was supposed to be a one-time payment, good forever. Disappointing.

@ted yes. The license key you get on your account goes into the general settings of Event Espresso.

@craig, You purchased back in 2010 if I am correct, so I a sorry if there was any miscommunication. Renewals are significantly discounted which will make it very affordable. More importantly, we will be able to reinvest into Event Espresso which has the potential to make you and your events more successful. We hope you see this as a good thing.

From $50 to $179 in two years ($89 with discount)? Yikes, this is going to be a really tough sell to my not-for-profit group that has been using EE for our past two annual events (especially since, like Craig, it was indicated that the premium price would be a one-time payment for early adopters when it switched from Advanced Event Registration to EE).

There’s no way I’m going to be able to get approval for $89 (plus $149 for the ticketing, which was $65 when we bought it last June) by 8/1/2012, and they really won’t give me approval for the full $179+$149. Will there be a way to get some kind of grace period for renewals?

There is no way I’d ever consider paying these prices.

When I first purchased Event Espresso (4/11/2010), it was advertised as a one-time payment for a perpetual license with updates. Period. Saying that the rules have changed, and would I please pay 2 times as much to renew as I originally paid doesn’t cut it.

The software has never done what I wanted it to do anyways (as described elsewhere). Paying more now would be throwing good money after bad.

@ Lindsay, I believe there is a 30 day grace period already in effect. You may want to look into the business license, as it bundles the ticketing add-on at a much lower price. I also suggest heading over to the contact page and contact us directly if you have any other questions about renewals for non-profits.

@craig, I’m sorry to hear the software never did what you wanted it to. We work very hard at making a product that is generalized enough to work across many use cases, but like other non-bespoke solutions, it may not always be a perfect fit.

@josh – Good idea, I will probably have an easier time selling them on that if it includes a bunch of add-ons. Thanks!
