Greetings, I just refreshed my licence key after some database issues. I put in the key this morning in the general settings – and when I save it simply “disappears” and the key icon to the right remains red. Is this a normal behaviour? I checked on my EE4 account and it shows active on the correct domain, but I am a little unsure. Most license key inputs confirm with green… Thanks in advance for a few seconds to respond. //Evan |

Pertaining to the above comments…I now see that I receive this flag: ….In my account, it only shows me using one domain…the correct one. The refreshed/renewed license key was approved by your administrators, but something is amiss. Thanks in advance for your feedback. |
Hi Evan, Are you using WordPress MultiSite or a single site install? |
Hi Tony, thanks for getting back. Yes, in fact, it is a multi-site install. But I was using one before as well and experienced no problems…or perhaps I am imagining that. I have a multi-site, for potential back-up extensions like LMS that are not different domains, but extensions of the same site. I have no additional sites on this install…the multi-is there only as a back-up. My multi-site stuff is connected with a separate domain. I have generact.com (multi with LMS)…and generact-negotiation (multi) (& where my license is) with no additional site. Is this a (the) problem? |
Yes, MultiSite is the problem. However, to explain a little…. There is a known issue with WP MS and EE in that when you save the General Settings the license key saves but the field is shown blank. So then if you re-save without a key it saves the blank field and messes up the license call. You then re-add your license key which EE then tries to assign to the domain again and it causes problems then throws the notice you mentioned above. We have an open ticket to address this. So currently you can use EE with WP MS but you’ll need to make sure the license key is present within that field whenever you make changes to the general settings and save. I will reset your license key now, if you reapply the key to the site the notice should be removed. |

Hi Tony…followed your instructions. Flag still shows. |
OK, I’ve assigned a new key to your account. Please save the license key field with nothing in the field, dimiss any EE notices shown. Then grab your new key from your account page and paste it into the key field. Check for whitespace before/after the key and then save the settings. Does it still show? |

Voila! Thanks! ….If I could grab your attention on one further topic, it would be appreciated. On the very same page…under Contact Information… I am having a most difficult time getting Sweden state/province to show. I have downloaded & installed the latest State/Province pack…and with both activated & deactivated..I get zero result. Is there way to remove that section in templates…so it doesn’t even call for it? At the moment when published it shows my address, and “unknown” under state/province … when my company information is shown…same effect with venues. Funny…on my årevious install it worked fine and immediately pulled up the correct province in Sweden from a dropdown. Does this too, have something to do with multi-site…or is there something else I should be looking for? It doesn’t even show the Sweden state/province dropdown list on the Countries page. All a bit confusing. I have read some posts and tried to follow those instructions to no avail. Thanks again, when you have a moment… |
Hmmm, no that shouldn’t be a problem with multi-site. The state packs basically just add the states to the DB for the specified country, they do this on activation so only need to be activated once and then can be de-activated (and even deleted). So if you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Countries. Does the main dropdown show Sweden but non of the states are shown when you select it there? |
Correct for the countries section…but that really isn’t a problem because I edit out the need for province/state in the registration form by not forcing it as “required”…we generally don’t use province/state info here in Sweden. My main concern in the Contact information pages because that shows up on the invoices, and looks unprofessional to have Arizona or Unknown in the state/province line. |
Hi Evan, Could you change the Invoice Payee Address shortcode to use these shortcodes? http://cl.ly/image/3b3e16112e14 –> http://cl.ly/image/0k322k2m0S27 Then save changes. — |
Hi Lorenzo…will test & return with result. On the run now… |
Hi Lorenzo…other things to tackle…now back to this. Sorry for my non-coder abilities…but where exactly do I drop those shortcodes in? In a file, in messages? In templates? //Evan |
Event Espresso –> Messages. Locate the Invoice message type and click on purchaser. Then you’ll change the Invoice Payee Address shortcode to use the shortcodes that I shared and save changes. Afterwards, Event Espresso will use your updated address format. — |
