I’ve read the post on the License Key issue but I’m not sure we have a standard case of it. Our site, lifering.org, is on a virtual server hosted by GoDaddy, and a couple of weeks ago I opted to rebuild the site from a backup, in order to upgrade the underlying Linux version. After that rebuild, I’ve continually gotten the error. Also, Event Espresso shows in the “plugin update” page but when I tried to update it the update failed. Is there something about a site rebuild from a backup that would cause this? I started the “key refresh” process but the button said “continue to purchase” – I wasn’t planning to spend any money on this as the license should be good through April 2013.
We can reset the key for free and try that first. Which version of Event Espresso does the site have on it right now?
I’ll reset that right now, and what you can do next is go to Event Espresso>General settings on your site and remove the key there are save. Then you can go to your account page and copy then paste the key from the account page into the key field in Event Espresso>General Settings, then save again.
Current version is 3.1.28.2.P. I’ve removed the old key. I just looked at my account page and all I see is the old key followed by the words “Not active.” How long does a reset usually take?
It looks like the old key to me (the first and last 3-5 digits are the same) and it still says “Not Active.” I even logged out and logged back in and it hasn’t changed.
Actually I did, and it said, “you have no key,” but now that you’ve reset it, the error message has gone. Thanks a bunch!
