License key is invalid

hi there, I’ve got a problem with my license key. This is what call i get: ‘An automatic update for Event Espresso is available but your Support License Key is invalid. Either you have entered the wrong key on the Event Espresso General Settings page (EE3+ users)’ Now i’ve got version EE, and it needs an update, but i’m worried that when i update right now, that all the current events will get problems… so please help me out…

Your licence is for EE4, not EE3, which is why the licence key will not work. Do you have a secondary account with Event Espresso?

hi Dean, i have only one account. (we’ve got a ‘test-site’ but, i don’t need a support on that site, thats just one for testing… 🙂 )

OK, well, I’m not sure what has happened here. Perhaps you renewed and chose EE4 instead?

If (as per your other thread) you swap to EE4 then the licence key will work.

If you prefer to remain on EE3 then please advise and I will refer this to the sales team.

ok thanks.. i’ll try to upgrade on the testaccount to ee4 first and see what happens… When everything is ok, then i go to the official account…
