Hello – We were happily running the most current version of EE4 until we updated to 4.9.0.p. Now we are in “Event Espresso Level 2 Maintenance mode”. Evidently there are migration scripts that need to be run?

I am not sure how to proceed. We are running WP 4.5.2.

Thanks

Bart

Hi Bart,

Go to Event Espresso and then you see a prompt to migrate and you can click the button to get started.

Event Espresso will then run the migration and move itself out of maintenance mode.

Hi there – can you be specific about this “button”? Where would I find that? Every page, including the maintenance page, tells me to go to the maintenance page – but there is nothing there except the error and a message to visit the maintenance page. Obviously not very helpful.

Thanks

Bart

Hello,

Go to Event Espresso –> Maintenance mode and you’ll be able to start the migration there.

It is currently locked-down as it needs to migrate its information before you can use the newest release of Event Espresso 4.

What do you see on that Maintenance mode screen?

Can you grab a screenshot and share here (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots)?

A member reported yesterday that Yoast SEO caused an issue on the migration page where it did not fully load so I want to make sure that isn’t happening here.

Hi there

Here is a screenshot: http://furnsoc.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/FS-EE-Shot.png

We do not have Yoast SEO installed.

We are completely dead in the water and the main event is next week. Any help is much appreciated.

A followup – Your comment about the page not loading completely caught my eye. The first time I loaded the page this morning it did not complete, but when I reloaded with the inspector open it loaded quickly – all requests were answered, and it looked exactly the same as the previous incomplete load.

I am not sure what might not be loading, but it seems complete to me.

I found an internal plugin was interfering with the maintenance page. I am not sure why yet, but disabling it allowed the migration to succeed and we are back in business.

That might be a JavaScript error on the migration page caused by the other plugin.

Hello,

Thanks for letting us know how you resolved the issue. Was that a site specific plugin for customizing your site?

Have you experienced any other issues after completing the migration and reactivating the plugin?
