Language Files incomplete

I’m using qTranslate-X successfully for other plugins. However, for EE4 Event pages there is a mixture of English with whatever translation selected.

1. Is anyone actively updating the Language PO/MO Files for fr,es,de,it?
I downloaded the fr,es,de and it PO/MO files and none are complete. I’d be happy with Babylon/Google/Microsoft translations on all the missing words/phrases until someone with language skills can update them better. Either way, completed Language files would be good – I’m happy to add translations based on available translation tools (Babylon,Microsoft, Google, etc)

2. Not all phrases are in the PO files e.g. ‘Reserve your Seat’ or ‘Available Tickets’ when an Event Details is requested from the /Events page. Even the ‘Register Now’ button is still in English.

3.I can also add the qTranslate-X shortcodes e.g. [:en]blah[:][:fr]frenchblah[:] into the Event Description ok (so I can have the correct translation served about the event) BUT the Event Name does not translate (it shows all the shortcodes) – what can we do with this… or is this EE to fix?

Sorry I placed this here and not under the Translate area… not sure how to move it

Hi Peter,

Event Espresso is not compatible with WPML or qTranslate at this time.

Our language files are updated by members that contribute translations through our GlotPress project (http://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso-4).

I can double-check on some of those translation strings that are missing.

Where is the phrase Reserve your Seat being used in Event Espresso 4?

Hi Lorenzo,

I have to say that when we bought this product, I misread it as being already in 15 Languages… but closer scrutiny of the fine print and I see that you have only begun and in fact none of the 15 languages are complete.

I have already applied to help with the GlotPress project – hopefully your offer for incentive is still available for the work done – this is a commercial product after all 😉 There is still a lot of work to do in there. Are you placing resources on it as well, or are you relying on just the users doing this work?

When do you think it will be qTranslate-X compliant?

Appreciate the hard work you are doing… its a good product and improving rapidly.

Hi there Peter, our current language files are through member contributions and we provide complementary support licenses to members that help us translate Event Espresso.

An integration with qTranslate is not planned at this time but we may reconsider this with enough interest from our members. We appreciate your kind words about Event Espresso!

Were there any other questions that we could answer for you?

Consider my vote for Event Espresso to have qTranslate-X integration. We have 12 sites needing event capability and in EN, ES, CH, FR, DE, IT languages. I have to go with another plugin (not as good as yours) that does have qTranslate-X integration and their number of users are rising fast by the way (30,000+)… so it is a need. They currently have a problem with their Strip extension conflicting with other Stripe enabled plugins. So neither of the Event plugins are doing what we need and there are no others that do events well enough. So its a close race…
