For some reason when the event espresso plugin is active, it seems to really slow down my website. I keep getting 502 Bad Gateway error once I click on registrations or events or anything for that matter in the dashboard. It works find on a computer that I have been using previously but when I log in on a new computer, it does this. Once I click on registrations i.e. I assume once it sends a request to the database, after that it all goes south. Nothing works after that. I disable the plugin and the website works fine.
My site is hosted on WP-Engine and is using the optimizepress theme. I have no idea what is going on but I need the admin person to use his computer to access registrations and event details to accept or cancel people. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for responding. Ok i understand that wpengine might be killing requests from event espresso but it still does not explain as to why event espresso is taking so long to process the request. Is there a particular limit to the database size after which event espresso struggles because it should not take this long for the query to happen in the first place.
No, there should not be a limit, and as far as I know, the size of the database should not affect loading those pages.
One thing that will affect the load time of the pages is how many events and how many registrations are being loaded per page. The number of events and registrations per page can be set by clicking on the Screen Options tab (upper right corner of the Event Espresso admin page). Then you can decrease the set value for Pagination. You can lower the number of items per page for the Events, Registrations, and Transactions pages in the admin.
