Event Espresso 5.0.27.p is active, but there’s no “Event Espresso” in the admin menus.

At the top it says “The Event Espresso UXIP feature is not yet active on your site. For more info and to opt-in click here.” but if I follow the “click here” link it takes me to [mysite]/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_general_settings&action=default&default_nonce=2b3ef3f05b#UXIP_settings

And on that page it says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

Just purchased the software today, haven’t had a chance to input license key or anything.

For the record, I do have lots of other plugins around, but I tried deactivating them all and running just Event Espresso. No luck. I’m running Astra, but tried switching to Twenty Twentyfour. No luck. I’m on WordPress 6.6.2

Hi there,

It sounds like for some reason the capabilities to view EE haven’t been set up correctly.

Do you know what version of PHP is the site using?

(A quick fix is to install 4.10.46 and activate that, it uses a different method of adding the capabilities which when issues like this have come up in the past, has worked for those. However, you’ll need PHP7.4 for that to work so if your on PHP8+ we’ll need a different solution)

Sorry I have PHP 8.1.27.

I probably have previously installed Event Espresso (Decaf) on the same site some time in the past and it’s probable that it didn’t get completely removed.

I’m a little rusty with WP but comfortable modifying the database or whatnot if you provide me directions.

I don’t think this is an issue with the database on this occasion, do you mind if I take a look?

I’ll need both WP-Admin and FTP credentials to troubleshoot this, which you can send over using this form:

Okay I don’t think I need support on this anymore. I tried making a fresh clean installation of WordPress and was able to get it installed. But then some other things are not working and I think I just want a refund.

May I ask what isn’t working?

You can request a refund using this form:
