Is API for android going to be done soon?
Is the pre-release API plugin safe and better for a live site selling tickets?
Is it very difficult to create a plugin that would authenticate qr codes on a laptop with a usb code reader of the admin menu of the site instead only from a phone, which is nice but a bit slow for high volume entries?
I do not have a release timetable for an Android app that uses the new API. That said, the API is no longer a pre-release and is available as a stable plugin.
I do not know the answer to your question about building a plugin that would authenticate qr codes on a laptop using 3rd party hardware. I think it would depend on the skill level of the developer and the api/dev tools available for integrating the 3rd party hardware.
Thank you Josh,
I saw the hangout video and they mentioned few months ago that they are working on the android API but still no news
🙁 What about on EE 4.0?
Their is an pre-release API 2.1.0v, is that the stable one?
Re the laptop issue, most of the plugins like ignitewoo are having this function. Its just something to point to the admin menu and authenticate fast (we need to be fast…) I realy hope you look into it since you’ve done the hard bit with the app already.
Regards
The 2.1 version adds support for Roles and Permissions Pro integration. With a few exceptions (like the calendar plugin) we generally advise using the stable versions of the software.
