Issues with setting custom payment methods for separate events

We have a website where we have two events setup, one is for the public conference tickets. The other is for vendor registration, which is located on a password protected page, as we do not want attendees to see vendor sponsorship pricing / details.

We installed this: https://github.com/eventespresso/eea-payment-methods-pro

We went enabled the Payment Types, switched to Admin Only.. and then went to set the custom field: include_payment_method with a value of: invoice for the vendor page. We save the field, update the page… and the value disappears.

We had WPEngine already update the install per: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-wpengine-hosting-event-espresso/
Including the heartbleed api.

We also had them update: http://jonathannicol.com/blog/2014/03/02/wordpress-custom-fields-not-saving-phps-max_input_vars-may-be-to-blame/

And we tried: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/important-update-publish-button-on-pages-doesnt-save-custom-fields/

We disabled all non required plugins and also tried using the default 2016 wp theme, still not working. The custom field disappears after saving the page.

WP Version: 4.6.1

Hi there,

there’s actually been a change to the payment methods pro add-on and the documentation needs to be updated to follow.

If you view one of your payment methods you’ll find an ‘Event Specific’ option now – http://take.ms/2j9u2
(You need to uncheck ‘front end’ before saving as you can not have a payment option as front end … or more of a ‘normal’ payment method, AND be event specific)

Then, within your events you’ll see an ‘Event-Specific Payment Methods’ metabox – http://take.ms/pEFH0

That will list all of your event specific payment methods that you can select for that specific event.

The manual method of adding the payment methods slugs to event meta is no longer needed with the latest version of the payment methods pro add-on.
