Hi, since the last wordpress update, my Event Espresso install has been presenting serious problems, especialy with Safari and permalinks in general in a way that whenever a client clicks the buy button, it takes them to a page that says that the basket is empty. In other browsers, the problem consists in permalink issues because whenever a client clicks on an event, it takes them to a different one instead the one meant to be. I tryed setting permalinks to default, and it has helped in most of the browsers, however the problems persists in Safari. My previous setting whit permalinks was set to post name, and it was working fine. The following is my current system status: Event Espresso version 3.1.35.2.P All In One SEO Pack by Michael Torbert version 2.1, Configuración I hope someone could help me out with this problem since I really don’t know what else should I do. Usually we see this problem when the cart page is set to https, but the page with the add-to-cart button is http. When the browser makes the switch to https, it starts a new session which doesn’t have the item in it that was just added to the cart in the session in use on the page that is http. |

I checked and this is happening in Chrome and Firefox too, so it’s not a Safari only issue. It looks to me that something is clearing the session. You’ll notice that if you go to this page: https://topotepuy.com/?page_id=6 and click any of the Añadir al Carrito links, and instead of clicking “Ver carrito de compra” try refreshing the page. You’ll see that that event is no longer in the cart. Normally it would still be in the cart, even after a refresh. One thing that you could check on is with the server admin to see if they’ve changed anything related to the path to where sessions are stored. You can also verify that this page only has one shortcode on it: [ESPRESSO_EVENTS]. |

Hi Josh, thanks for your reply, the tag [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] is included in the page, and nobody has changed the server path since I’m the server admin. I have not changed any parameter in the backend or in the wordpress admin. It just started happening. We had some hacker issues a while ago, but since I hired the Sucuri private proxy service it all ended. However I had to do some massive work recreating the site and data bases because it was fully infected. This is very wierd, it was working fine, and all of a sudden, it started to present this bug. At this point I’m totally clueless about this. |

I would put some debug code in to see if it is just EE session info, or php session info in general. In espresso.php, line 30, add the following: ?><!--<?php var_dump($_SESSION); ?>--><?php That way the output is visible in the page source, but not on the page. |

Shouldn’t be blank pages with Sidney’s debug code. Probably need to check the server’s error log to see what happened. |

I don’t know why the site really doesn’t like the html comment approach. I had to just do the var_dump in plain text at the top of the page. Of course, as soon as I got that working and could see the session data, the site started working. I’m able now to add events to the cart and see the events in the cart. |

You could check with Securi and find out whether they’re doing some caching. It may be that the page with add to cart link is being aggressively cached. If that’s the case, maybe they can set it up so this page isn’t served as a cached file. |
