Hi,

Is there any way to make sure that errors are triggered every time a user’s information is not filled out correctly? Currently an error message is only triggered once and if the user doesn’t get the info correct the second time nothing happens and they are not notified of what the issue was. How do I ensure this is always triggered?

You can test this out on my install by clicking the below link – selecting an event + attendee number – and then inputting incorrect or non-complete registration info in multiple times. Only the first error is triggered.

BTW – no core files have been edited and the user lands on the registration page in question via the ticket selctor shortcode being used on the previous page.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Tad,

Can you try updating to the latest version of EE4? There was a bug in a recent version that was fixed where the validation scripts were not loading on the registration form page.

Hey Josh. I manually updated the plugin (since all my tests are done on our staging domain) and then cleared the cache. Now I actually get NO pop up errors on the registration page. =/ The previous version would give me an error the first time around, but none after that. I am trying to get the error messages to consistently pop up every time all the info is not filled out completely or correctly.

You shouldn’t be seeing pop ups on the registration page unless something went horribly wrong. It shouldn’t let you submit the form without validating the form fields, so there shouldn’t be pop ups with the new version now that the form validation scripts load.

I can see the form validation text in the markup of that page if I try to submit an empty form, but it looks like there’s some custom CSS in your theme that’s interfering with its display. If you switch to another WordPress theme temporarily does the form validation text begin to display on the reg form page?

Josh… you are totally right. I was hiding the .ee-required-text class with CSS for some reason. I think I thought the pop-up messages and added classes overlapped so I originally disabled it and forgot about it. My bad. Thanks for the help. The pop up now doesn’t show and with the CSS now displaying correctly the experience is MUCH better. Thanks so much.
