Hi,
We are using Event Espresso – 4.10.10.p on wordpress Version 6.1.1.
We have configured PayPal Express payment method for event registrations. But we are facing an issue with PayPal, It is prompting people to create accounts after filling out their card details.
I tried this article to remove it https://www.paypal.com/us/cshelp/article/how-do-i-accept-cards-with-checkout-using-the-guest-checkout-option–help307 but it did not work.

Is there a way to change/update the plugin so that we can avoid that?

Thanks

Tony

Hi there,

Although PayPal allows you to enable ‘Guest Checkout’ it’s up to PayPal if they allow users to continue without creating an account.

From the link your provided:

Buyers don’t always have the option to make their purchases without using or creating a PayPal account. This option is presented based on several risk factors, including but not limited to the buyer’s PayPal purchase history, PayPal cookies stored on the buyer’s computer, the buyer’s location, and/or a credit assessment.

So the option they give you basically allows you to say ‘Enable Guest Checkout, if PayPal allow if for this specific payment’. You can’t force that option to display for all payments with PayPal.

If you want all payments to work without using a PayPal account you would need to switch to another payment merchant such as Stripe.
