Hi there,

Here are the templates where the CC Emails aren’t functioning

Ok, so that’s every message type that has a CC field so this is related to a specific message type.

We can work on one of those and whatever issue is found will likely fix them all.

I recommend working with a Registration based message as they are easier to retrigger and test.

No matter what email addresses we enter in the CC fields…

So you’re using hardcoded email addresses (as in plural) within the CC field? How exactly are you entering those within the field? (The fine details matter here)

How many email addresses are you adding to the CC field?

I assume the email sends and the ‘original’ version of the email is received, just not the CC?

Could you please investigate this issue and provide a resolution or guidance on how to ensure that the CC Emails fields work properly?

The CC field is just another header we set within the email and it hasn’t changed within EE for a VERY long time now. THe issue here is likely outside of EE itself but we can investigate.

Just to add some details…

Event Espresso itself doesn’t technically ‘send’ email, what we do is build out the content of the email, set the headers (which includes the to, from and CC headers) and pass all of that content over to wp_mail() to do whatever formatting checked it needs to do and also to allow any other plugins to hook in and make any changes they need to do. The email is then passed over to your server to send however it is configured to do so.

Some mail servers work fine with CC fields, others do not, some allow multiple email addresses separated by spaces, some by a comma, some none at all (yes I’ve seen all of these different configurations whilst supporting Event Espresso so just covering all bases here)

Receiving copies of the emails sent to the Primary Registrant is crucial for our record-keeping and communication processes. If there are any logs or additional information required, I would be happy to provide them.

Who hosts the domain’s email? For example gmail?

Hi,

I am currently using only one email address in the CC field screenshot https://prnt.sc/ySU6mNHs0OIi, which is info@stmarkjamestraining.ca, and this is a Gmail account. Also I have tried [CO_EMAIL] it’s not working

To answer your questions:

01. Yes, I am entering the email address directly into the CC field.
02. I am only adding one email address to the CC field.
03. The email sends, and the ‘original’ version of the email is received, but not the CC.

Regarding the mail server, my domain’s email is hosted by Gmail.

Please let me know the next steps to investigate and resolve this issue.

Thank you for your assistance.

Regarding the mail server, my domain’s email is hosted by Gmail.

Is your site set up to send email through Gmail?

For example, are you using an SMTP plugin to send emails through them?

Or just sending mail through your host’s mail server?

Hi,

Currently, my site is set up using WordPress’s default mail settings, which means emails are sent through the host’s mail server, not via Gmail or an SMTP plugin. The registration approved emails are working fine, including the CC option. The issue seems to be specifically with the payment decline emails.

Thank you,

All of the emails work in exactly the same way, the content of the template changes but payment declined emails aren’t processed differently than registration approved.

Does the payment decline email show as sent in Event Espresso -> Messages?

Currently, my site is set up using WordPress’s default mail settings, which means emails are sent through the host’s mail server, not via Gmail or an SMTP plugin.

I recommend you switch to sending authenticated emails, the easiest way is via SMTP using whichever plugin you prefer:

Which SMTP plugin did you use?

Does it have a logging feature? (You’ll need details from your mail server to see what is happening).

Which mail provider?
