Hello everyone,

I’m currently facing an issue with my “Automated Upcoming Event Notification” feature. Strangely, the “Registration Approved” message functions perfectly, but I’m encountering problems with the upcoming event notifications.

The customer I’m working with has configured the notifications to be sent out 14 days before the event. However, this didn’t work as expected. In an attempt to troubleshoot the issue, I adjusted the timing to 7 days before the event. The event date is specifically set for September 1, 2023, at a particular time. According to this schedule, a message should have been sent out today.

All the test messages I’ve sent have been working flawlessly. Yet, the automatically generated messages are not appearing in the “Messages” section of the Plugin.

Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your answer.
I updated everything to the newest version.

The messages don’t get scheduled in the messages tab so they are not sent (spam and don’t get scheduled for the cron).

I tested everything with a private event.
Is there any difference between private events or not private events in case of the Automated Upcoming Event Notification?

Hi there,

Yes, currently, the add-on will only trigger notifications for events with a post status of ‘publish’ or ‘sold_out’, private events within WordPress will have a status of ‘private’ so will not be included in the query.

If you install WP Crontrol on the site.

Set the status of the event in question above to be published.

Then go to Dashboard -> Tools -> Cron Events.

Find the AHEE__EventEspresso_AutomatedEventNotifications_core_tasks_Scheduler__check cron and click ‘Run now’, it should trigger the notifications for that event.

You can then switch the event back to be private.

Note, the above will only trigger notifications for the event once, the add-on then saves that the notifications have been triggered for that event and will not retrigger them.
