Hi, I’ve looked all over the EE4 forums and haven’t found an answer to this specific question. I need to alter Step 1 and Step 2 of the checkout process so that the registration price subtotal can be displayed alongside the tax amount, and then a total to the right of those. I’m currently using a price surcharge modifier to fill the role of the tax because the tax rate (and amount) differs based on each event’s location. Any snippets or ideas?” |
Hi there, We’ll need a few moments to dig into Event Espresso’s core code to find any applicable filter hooks that allow displaying the surcharge line items in more places. We’ll get back to you with what we find. |

Hi Josh, If there is a way we could display the same information using tax price types that would also work. Please let us know what options there are to display tax details on event-by-event basis. Thanks! |
Hi there,
As you’ve discovered, the tax amounts get applied to all tickets that have the taxable checkbox checked. So you could use the a set tax amount for some events where they’ll use that tax amount. Then, for the events that have tickets that need different tax amounts, the surcharge amounts can be used as you’ve also found. I’m working with a developer to get those surcharge line items displaying on Step 2. For Step 1, the line item amounts aren’t intended to be displayed there, but you can override the template to include more information about the breakdown of the price for each ticket. Here’s a link to an example template that can be added to your WordPress theme. It actually overrides the template that’s displayed before the registration form where it shows some of the ticket information. |

Hi Josh, We are working on implementing your example template for Step 1. Have you made any progress on a solution for Step 2? Thanks! |
Yes you can try out the solution. It’s included in the release candidate that’s available here: https://github.com/eventespresso/event-espresso-core/archive/master.zip |

Thanks Josh – can you clarify which of those files we can use and where to put them? Or, if you mean that we should replace the existing EE4 fileset wholesale with what you’ve linked to, we can also do that. Please advise. |
Hello, You can deactivate and remove the existing version of Event Espresso through your WordPress plugins screen. Then upload and activate the new version that Josh shared through the plugins screen in your WP dashboard. — |

Update: The release candidate that was linked to in the above reply has now been released, Event Espresso 4.9.10 is available now. |
