My client is gearing up for an upcoming promotion and is interested in utilizing discount codes to apply discounts to tickets at specific price levels. I poked around the documentation and could not find any info on this.
Can you explain a little more what “apply discounts to tickets at specific price levels”? In Event Espresso 3 discount codes apply to events, not tickets, so the tickets aren’t discounted individually rather any ticket available at the event. I think that is being improved upon in EE4, but I’d have to confirm that.
How does your client define price levels and how would the price of the event change?
My client is a Philharmonic Orchestra. They use multiple levels of pricing per event to determine seating assignments.
For example, they have 3 price levels: Gold, Silver & Bronze. They would like the coupon code ‘CODE’ to apply a 50% discount to Silver & Bronze, but not Gold.
So, we consider the Gold, Silver and Bronze pricing levels to be different tickets because a single ticket can not have multiple list prices.
Because discount codes apply to events, not tickets, you can not discount individual tickets unless they are separate events. Does that make sense? So you could create a ticket with a certain date and time and discount accordingly and set seating limits accordingly too.
